Burham has had many successful teams oyer the years achieving their most success in the Maidstone & Mid-Kent Sunday Football League during the early eighties, but that team eventually folded. The Burham Football Club of today grew from the success of a single junior team that was formed in 2003. Such was the enthusiasm for football in the village it was decided to reform an adult team. Burham now have eight junior teams as well as the adults and have attained the FA Charter Standard.
After an initial season in the Medway Sunday League, where they achieved cup and league success, the team joined the preferred Maidstone & Mid- Kent Sunday Football League at the start of this season. They have achieved great success winning their division and The President's Cup Group B in a hard fought match with Trosley, so a result today would be
the icing on the cake. Most of today's players, some of whom are only playing in their second year of men's football, grew up in or around Burham and some are the sons of the successful side from the early eighties.
We would like to thank our sponsors, Julie and Mike from The Windmill Pub, as well as the loyal band of supporters who have followed us, home and away, throughout the season.
It only remains for us to congratulate Falcons on reaching the final and let's hope we all enjoy a great match.
