Another Good Result!

We started off slowly, we were certainly below par, no-one wanted to take control of the game. However after 20 minutes of frustrating football we put together a passage of fine passing and the ball was flicked over the defense and JJ smashed the ball into the bottom corner of the net.

Blue Eagles played good football, a few clear chances, but 3 outstanding saves from Matt kept us in front.

Then a minute from time Eagles broke through the defense and made it 1-1, it stayed this way until 5 minutes into the second half when Richard broke through the defense to make it 2-1, Eagles continued to search for the equaliser and hit the net 10 minutes later. We continued to push forward and with 15 minutes of pressure on the Eagles defense Richard slotted home the winner.

We were definitely below par but the positives were we didn’t play that well but we still won.

We didn’t give up, team spirit and morale was good. Keep it up!

Well done!

An outstanding performance!

Again we started off slowly, but played good football. After 15 minutes Richard thumped home a cracking shot to give us the lead. We kept pushing hard but we struggled to find the final killer pass. All the play seemed to be down the right hand side of the pitch with acres of space on the left.

Half time came; we discussed using the whole pitch, switching play and keeping our positions and shape. The lads done exactly as they were asked and what a difference! We dominated in every position. Another six goals followed, a hat-rick for JJ, two from Danny C, and one from Harry sealed the 7-0 victory. Reece made his debut for us and played well at left back.

This was an excellent all round performance by all! A good team performance! Well done everybody!

With two wins out of two so far, this was to be our hardest test yet, local rivalry continued from last season and what a game it turned out to be.

We were sluggish to start but had most of the possession, lots of running but no positional play. 0-0 at half time, we discussed this, set our stall out to up the tempo and hit them hard and play as a team.

Then after 10 minutes of the second half gone we had a corner, Dan C whipped in the corner to the back post and Jack N headed home leaving the defense standing. This lifted us again and with 15 minutes to go JJ hit the second.

We did however have a lapse of concentration at the back to concede a late goal with 10 minutes to go but we stood tall, held our own and sealed the win to make it 3 straight wins.

The work rate was good, we were strong in defense and midfield, and the strikers run their socks off.

Jamie S made his debut, worked hard and fitted well into the squad.

This is an excellent start to the season, and we need to build on this and continue working hard.

Well done everyone!!!

First game of the 2009 / 2010 season got underway.

The first half started very slowly, we did have a couple of half chances, Sam broke through the defense and slotted the ball just wide of the far post, We didn’t play our normal, quick passing, fast flowing and on the floor. A very strong, harsh team talk worked wonders.

The second half was a different story, we came out flying. Passing was fluent, precise and fast.

We pressed hard after a series of four corners, Danny B nipped in at the near post and headed home the first goal. Another 15 minutes went by when JJ broke through the defense and slotted home number two.

There were a few positives from this game, Matt kept a clean sheet, the second half the defense were excellent, the midfield really dug in and worked hard. The forwards run their socks off.

This was an excellent start to the season, we need to build on this and keep working hard.

Well done all!

The last league game of the season!

A Little complacent in the first half seeing us 2-1 at half time.  But as usual the second half we came out flying.  Excellent fast, precise passing with plenty of width led to us dominating the second half.  An excellent goal with Jack N smashing the ball into the roof of the net from a corner put us further in front.

Kingshill then scored from a free kick reducing the deficit to 3-2. Then Sam made it 4-2 and a good individual goal from James secured the win 5-2. The other 2 goals were scored by JJ taking his tally to 53 for the season.

A fantastic season all round, everyone in this team deserves to be champions.  They’ve worked hard and reacted fantastically to some strong criticism from me at times.

Well done. I’m proud of you all!!

Cup Semi-Final - Burham Division 3 Champions vs Blue Eagles Division 1.

Burham had four regulars missing. Matt(Goal Keeper) Ryan, Neil and Raj.

Pre match talk was “you’ve got nothing to loose, go out and enjoy it, but if you all play as a team you can beat anyone in this league.”

How true this was!

For the first 20 minutes we totally dominated the game, but Eagles got a corner and went 1-0 in front.  We kept pressing and confined them in their own half and with 5 minutes to go before the break JJ broke through the defense and slotted home the equalizer.

Team talk half time. “Come on! You’re still in this, we can win this”

The second half started and Eagles played much better, but we closed them down quickly, minimized possession and with 20 minutes of the second half left Harry collected the ball on the edge of the box and slotted home number 2. The game was more open now and we rode our luck a couple of times but with 10 minutes left JJ made it 3-1.

I thought the game was over but with 8 minutes left Eagles hit us on the break and made it 3-2.  An anxious 8 minutes, but all the lads defended well as a team and a well deserved win.  After the match the Eagles Manager said “you deserved to win, you were by far the better team on the day”.

The whole team worked hard, all the lads gave 100% commitment and effort, 3 fantastic saves from Brad gave us belief we could win.  As I said at the beginning of the season, with the players we have got, if you all play to your potential, all turn up and play as a team, you can beat anyone in the league.

A Fantastic Result! An excellent game to watch! Well Done!

This was the title decider, Burham top, Bearsted second with a game in hand.  We started the first half very slow even though we had most of the possession.  20 minutes in JJ broke through and opened the scoring, we pressed and pressed but Bearsted caught us on the break with a ball over top and left Matt no chance, leveling the score 1-1 at half time.

A short but harsh team talk, work harder, up the tempo and this we did. The lads totally dominated the second half with Bearsted only getting in our half with a long ball over the top. 15 minutes in Sam broke through the defense and slotted home number 2 and 5 minutes later Danny C secured the victory making it 3-1 and Burham League Champions!

Everyone on the pith and the subs played a major role in winning the league.

The whole squad has been fantastic all season and all and every one of you deserve this.  You’ve all made me very proud to be your Manager.  I’m proud to be a part of a well disciplined, hard working team.

Congratulations and again well done!!

With only 3 games to go, we needed to keep performing well.  This we did!  From the start we passed the ball well, and dominated the midfield.

It took only eight minutes for JJ to open the scoring.  We continued to press hard and eventually after 15 minutes JJ once again broke through the defense to slot home number 2.

With only 5 minutes of the first half remaining and about 9-10 shots on target I thought we were struggling to finish off the game, but then we got a free kick 20yds out. Danny C stepped up and smashed the ball into the roof of the net, leaving the keeper no chance, a fantastic free kick, making the score 3-0 at the break.

We began the second half better, quicker, faster, totally dominating the game.  Four more goals followed 1 from Sam and another 3 from JJ.

The five goals from JJ has taken his tally for the season to 50 goals in 14 games, this is an exceptional feat in itself, well done.

Again, an excellent all round team performance, the work rate was excellent; the passing was quick and accurate.  Well done! Keep it up!

Another excellent all round performance by all!  A match where the pitch had such a large slope on it Matt kicks from goal were landing in the penalty box of the opposition.  We took 5-10 minutes to get used to the slope but once we found the run of the ball we played some outstanding football.  3-0 up at half time the only thing I could say was “keep the ball and keep working hard”. I knew we were going to get bombarded in the second half, as the home side were kicking down the slope.  But that aside there was some outstanding defending, lots of hard graft in the midfield and some clinical finishing up front. Sam got a well deserved hatrick, he’s been working hard lately but not getting many breaks.  JJ hit another hatrick, Ryan B, his first of the season, James a cracking shot from out wide.

Again, the work rate was excellent; the passing was quick and accurate.

Well done! Keep it up!

A much better start this week than last week, we were much more mobile and moving the ball around much quicker.

There were plenty of chances in the first 10 minutes although we couldn’t convert them, until the ever dependable JJ broke through the defense on his own to put us 1-0 up. We continued to press forward and by half time JJ had bagged his hatrick.

I didn’t need much of a team talk only to keep working hard, and keep a clean sheet. Unfortunately we fell asleep for 5 minutes and the visitors scored to make it 3-1. Then we were awarded a corner and quick thinking between Dan and Ryan led to Dan scoring from a wide and acute angle. The visitors again replied to make it 4-2.  Five minutes later JJ made it 5-2 and to round the scoring off Sam scored a cracking individual goal which nestled in the roof of the net.

Well done all the team and keep working hard!!!

After the Christmas Break and two postponed matches due to weather, all the lads showed they had missed playing.

We got off to a very slow start and after 15 minutes we broke the deadlock, two more goals followed as we went into the break 3-0 up. The team talk was quite simple, play fast flowing football and work harder. After only 5 minutes into the second half Marden caught us on the break and made it 3-1. This was the wake up call the team needed, we picked up the tempo and played some excellent one touch football, six more goals followed in a very good 20 minutes of football.

Keep up the hard work the results will keep coming. Well done!

Finally we got off to a flier, after 60 seconds JJ broke through the defense and slotted home the first goal, and again 2 minutes later. We went on to dominate the game, closing them down and winning all 50-50 balls.  We went on to score 3 more, giving us a 5-0 lead at half time.

We took our foot of the gas slightly but after 10 minutes into the second half JJ put in number 6.  Danny C scored a good individual goal to make it 7, JJ again made it 8, then Harry beat the defender, turned inside and hit a excellent shot into the top corner before Raj completed the scoring to make it 10-0.

A clean sheet is always good for morale and confidence. Samuel U was faultless in defense and it was very encouraging to see the lads not get complacent.

Well done again, good free flowing football, a pleasure to watch!

It was touch and go whether the match would be played, snow laid on the pitch but just before kick off the heavens opened and the rain washed the snow away.  We got off to a flier very good quick brisk passing and after 20 minutes we were 2-0 up. Two more goals followed and at half time we were 4-0 up.  Fair play to Paddock Wood they didn’t give up and got back into the game with two quick goals. We scored on the break to make it 5-2.  Paddock Wood hit us on the break to make it 5-3. The alarm bells rang and it’s nice to see the squad can lift the tempo when needed, the passing got better and we moved the ball around quickly and shut the play down quickly. An excellent individual goal from James M made the game safe at 6-3 and Ryan B completed the score to make it 7-3.

In these terrible conditions the lads worked their socks off, played good football and deserved the win. Well done everyone!

Slow out of the blocks again but after 15 minutes Ryan B hit a rocket of a shot, the keeper couldn’t hold it and Sam followed in to put us one up. Ten minutes later JJ pushed us further in front as we led 2-0 at the break.

Holtwood hit us on the break in the second half and reduced the score to 2-1, this hit alarm bells and the whole team lifted the tempo and totally dominated the last 25 minutes with some fine, fast flowing football and JJ getting 3 more goals.

Another good result after a slow start. Well done! Keep it up!

Not as good a start as normal, a little sluggish even though we went 2-0 in front after 20 minutes.  We conceded after a minor mistake and the Wateringbury striker hit the net with an excellent top corner strike.  We nudged further ahead and went in at half time 3-1 up.

The second half we stepped up a gear and took the game to them, four further goals in the second half and another conciliation goal from the home team completed the scoring.

JJ scored a hat-rick, Harry 2, Sam 1, Jack 1.

Another good result after a slow start. Well done and lets keep playing good quick flowing football.

This performance exceeded last weeks!

This was an early season top of the table clash, Bearsted top, Burham second.

We started brightly and took the game to Bearsted and after two very good goals we were 2-0 up.  Bearsted got back in the game with a hesitant defensive error and another from a slip of concentration.  The second half was a different story, the Midfield was magnificent, they worked their socks off and dominated the whole game. We scored early in the second half and continued to attack for the remainder of the game.  Everyone had an outstanding game and it was impossible to pick Man of the Match. Everyone deserved to get it!

This was the best performance I’ve seen from the lads since I’ve been Manager.

Everyone had a good game; the football was outstanding at times, except for a little loss of concentration and complacency at the start of the second half which led to the 2 goals.   We totally dominated Marden from start to finish.

The goals came thick and fast, 3 for JJ, 3 for Ryan B, 2 for Sam, 2 for Danny and 1 for Harry.

First match of the season.

A tight first half even though we had the majority of possession and lots of chances we could not finish, then 5 minutes from the half time whistle J.J slotted home his first of the game.

The second half was a totally different, and after 5 minutes JJ hit a right footed drive from 25 yards into the top corner, from this point, we went on and totally dominated the game. Apart from a dubious offside and one mistake from the defence in the whole game, the opposition did not look like they were going to score.

An excellent all round performance by all, everyone played their part and worked hard, but J.J had an outstanding game.

Well done.
